Wonderful Surprise...& a Blast form the Past!

Sunday night I got on Facebook and had a meassage that when I read it I was litteraly jumping up and down and screaming (with joy). The message asked if I had a pen-pal that lived in Sheffield England, named Rebecca Houghton and I did!!!!!

My Aunt Joann had connected us together when she went on her mission to England around 1991. We wrote back and forth but lost contact sometime in my early high school years.
Here is a picture of Rebecca when we were writing:

And a picture of her Now:

I am so glad that we have been able to get back in contact with each other and looking forward to catching up on the years we have missed and stay in touch!!. I have already looked at flights to England (maybe one day it will be more than just a wish)

Fall is in the air... Maybe

WOW I can't believe how fast time is flying!! It's October already! The kids have been in school almost 9 weeks and Bill almost 8 weeks! I've always heard that time seems to go by faster the older you get...

This post finds us with all three Rinard kids in Martial Arts now! I have loved it! All three have enjoyed it and they love the instructors. Last week Billy was doing so great with a move they were doing, the instructor pointed out how great his form was and He was on top of the world. It made his day!

Karissa and Jalyn are enjoying dance! The Dance girls rode in the fair parade and then performed. Jalyn was sick so she didn't get to perform or ride in the parade but they are going to perform at the Fall festival in late October so that will be fun!! This is a picture of the parade float. Karissa is on the far left. Tresha also got to ride in the parade, so that was real fun!

Bill is still doing awesome in School. He has been getting A in all his classes and says it's pretty weird that people in his class are asking him for help cause he's the smart one! I think he doesn't know how smart he is!!

Not much is new with Jana, still just trying to keep the Rinard three-ring-circus running as smooth as possible. Looking forward to the cooler weather (especially since we have a heater that works now!!) Next project is getting ready for Halloween.

it's great to be 8!

On September 10th, 2010 Karissa turned eight and chose to be Baptised. We had lots of friends and family that joined us in celebrating her choice. My mom (Debbie Crotts) made her Baptism Dress and it couldn't have been prettier. She had Bishop Jensen give a talk as well as her Grandma Debbie. Her Grandpa Carl baptised her and Karissa's Uncle Russell confirmed her. Thank you to all those who came to support her and participated in her program. So proud of her and the choices she has made.
(3 down- 2 to go)

As School Begins... so do schedules...

Is it just me or does it seem like Summer Flew by??? Well the 2010-2011 School year starts off with Billy in Mrs. Stewart's Class and Mrs. Hansen will be returning from last year as well as being in Mr Heliman's 3rd grade class. Karissa is in Mrs. Nandino's 2nd grade class. and Jalyn is in Mrs Barlow's 1st grade class.

Karissa and Jalyn are taking Dance classes this year. They are in Foot Notes Dance and loving it. I think Jalyn has finally found a sport that speaks her language!! Their first performance will be at the fair so I will post about that. Looking forward to it! Karissa is also going to start guitar lesson's with Bishop Buddy Jensen.

Billy is continuing with scouts and has also started attending Martial Arts classes down at DePalma's in Safford. On his first lesson they taught his about respect and explained that he needed to bow each time before getting onto the mat. I asked him how it went and he said "good, I learned to respect a carpet."
Bill has started back to Western in Silver City. They do a block program with the Electrician Degree. He has only once class at a time. He goes for 4 hours a day, 5 days a week for three weeks then he is done with that class and startes another. He is learning alot and enjoying what he is doing! He has got all A's and we are very proud of him!

Summer Part 2

I know I am behind but not by too much! Anyway, The second half of our summer was very fun. We went up to Big Lake and spend two weeks there. Russell and his family came up for the first part and then Becky and her family came up for the second half. Grandma Iva was able to make it the whole time thanks to Bill building a nice ramp so we could get Grandma into the trailer with us. We celebrated Grandma's Birthday on July 11 while we were up there. It was a great time and had lots of good memories made. One of my favorites is when I did Grandma's Hair I thought it was SO cute...

Then in the early part of August we had to drive to Albq. so that Jalyn could so to the Dr. We got a hotel room for two nights and had such a good time. We went to the mall and the kids had saved up their money and were able to buy something. They were also introduced to CINNABONS!! "We need one of these in Virden, MOM!!" On our way back when we drove through TorC the kids notices some water off to the left and asked if they could put their feet in the water. Bill decided that would be a fun detour and so we drove to Elephant Butte. The kids had a blast! Bill only got stuck once in the sand (in our van) so it was a day that was full of fun. We ended up staying that night in a hotel in T0rC and went back the next day and let the kids play some more. We had such a fun time we hope to go back soon!!

1st Part of Summer 2010

Well here it is June 11th already. My summer goes way too fast. I love having my kids home. We have been able to do a lot of swimming.
Jalyn and Karissa both participated in little league this year and Vicky Wiley had a swimming party of the different leagues and so on Wednesday we went to Jalyn's and on Thursday we went to Karissa's. Vicky has an in-ground pool that has a slide on it. My kids had such a great time. Billy does so good in the water. Swimming is in a sense a therapy for him. We were invited to go back today for the final swim party.
Bill is taking a summer course during June. He will start the Electrician Program in the fall and have three semesters of those classes and then will only have one more general class to take to complete his degree.
I have been busy getting ready to go camping in the end of June. It is one vacation that I will do year after year. I love going to Big Lake. There are so many fond memories I have up there. This year will be quite different because Jackie and her grandkids will not be going up for the first time in 6 years or so. Jackie is flying out on Saturday to stay with Shelly in Texas and Paul and Stacy are moving to Benson at the end of June. So many changes that are very sad but that are what we have to do.
I found out last week that I will have to have surgery on July 19th. They will be removing a mass that is in my lower pelvic area. I guess I am hoping that it is Abdominal Wall Endomerieoses and not something worse. The only way to tell what is is at this point is to remove it and test it... so we will see what this brings.
